The mains voltage varies from place to place and, even in one place, changes all the time depending on factors such as how much current your neighbours are drawing. I have no idea what could be the cause of your troubles. One way to investigate would be to set your gear to emit a continuous sound and have a voltmeter on the output of the Powerbrite. With a web cam or some such, record the audio and the voltmeter's display overnight. People who live in urban areas tend not to worry about lightning because the power lines are underground. -- André Majorel http://www.teaser.fr/~amajorel/
