First record bought with my own hard cash: 'King Rocker' by Generation X. 75 pence on 7" vinyl. Purchased from Bradley's Records on Fargate, Sheffield, sometime in 1979. Bradley's being the kind of 70's record store where the shop assistants were vacant teenage lasses in nylon overall things who looked as if they should really have been on the cheese counter at British Home Stores. Damon. (And IDM content or not, let's face it, if the US were any good at footy, this list would be stuffed to the gills with World Cup reports instead of Kraftwerk live reviews. So what d'you reckon? Michael Owen to bang in a winner in the last minute against Argentina? It could happen ;-)
