hi all as a girl who is (admittedly) completely obsessed with electronic music, i must agree with nate here. more girls need to get into this stuff...open their minds to it more...or come out of the closet about it. unfortunately, it seems that a lot of the girls i know only like house music becuase it's what they mostly hear/dance to at the parties. likewise, many girls seem to only like the music because they think the dj's a hotty...which is completely and totally pathetic and they're totally missing the point. i'm not saying this is the case for all women, 'cause i know there are more like me out there...it just seems like it's a lot easier to get a guy to listen to a little Ae or BoC than my girl friends. it seems to me that a lot of this industry has a strong male presence/visibility, whereas i just don't hear a lot about women producers, DJs, etc. maybe that's part of it?
