My favorite modular integration is Reaper + AudioMulch + Expert Sleepers. I can sequence from Reaper MIDI piano roll out to the modular via Silent Way (ES-3) bring the audio back in via (ES-6) and run it through VSTs in Reaper and/or AudioMulch (via rerouting, love the granulator) and then back out to the modular for analog filtering then back into Reaper for Delay and final effects from Soundtoys or a little Vintage Warmer 2. I've done this for a bunch of sessions recording several tracks of audio. I can save my sequences in my DAW and reuse them on different synths or even use them live to keep consistent sets.
