Just catching up on some older e-mails about the "old school ELECTRO" thread.

I remember hearing these tracks (see below) for the first time and not
quite sure what the hell it was! After listening to these on my gigantic
BOOM box (anyone remember those?)
on cassette's from radio broadcasts' on WTLC (Indianapolis,IN.). I still
have them and from time to time I have been known to drop them into the old
ALPINE tape deck.

Play at Your Own Risk - PLANET PATROL
Planet Rock - Afrika Bambatta and the Soulsonic Force
Clear - CYBOTRON
Jam On Revenge - NEWCLEUS
Al-Naafiysh(the soul) - HASHIM etc. etc. etc.

I would say that "Planet Rock" was pretty much everone's favorite with
umpteen mixes of that floating around the country. Although not "electro"
per'say, ZAPP's "More Bounce To The ounce" was a personal favorite and then
later Herbie Hancocks "Rockit" and mixes
shortly after breaking mucho ground!

Gosh I feel somewhat "old" after dusting off those memories.

BTW we just called this style "Electric Funk" or "New Style".
