The fate reserved for all recordable CDs that didn't burn right... but I
take the extra step of only using the microwave at the office. This is
much more exciting than nuking a ball of tinfoil.

Also fun, put a CD on top of an inverted coffee mug and put it over one
of the burners on the stove, and heat evenly, it'll melt down the sides,
and if you're careful, you can pop it off and use it to hold your car keys
or something.

At the ghetto record store that Babzani and I used to work at we sold some
goop that removed scratches, it was like elmer's glue, sort of, and you
were supposed to rub it in with a circular motion until it liquified,
then buff the cd off with a "clean-lint free cloth." I tested it on some
of the "bargain (garbage) bin" CDs and it totally worked. I forget the
brand name, but they make a lot of accessories of this nature, the label
was green (like Turtle Wax) if I remember correctly. It was $10, which
is a little bit more pricey than Turtle Wax.
