After his excellent Evil Weevil ep on Nature back in '97 and comp appearances for Mask, Leaf, Crink of Spleen, and Nature, Vendor Refill (aka Tom Betts) returns with his first album entitled "Stable." Stable contains eleven tracks over two slabs of vinyl (thirteen tracks on the cd). The styles represented on Stable range from crunchy percussions over haunting atmospheres to subtle meldoies over light breakbeats to gurgling electronics over lush synths to even some retro bleepy sheffield-style polyrhymic techno. But as a whole, lush melodies and slow breakbeats are in abundance on Stable. Comparisons to the sound of this ep range from Disjecta to Funkstorung, to Fizzarum, Lexaunculpt, and especially early-Autechre. I guarantee you'll be hearing a plethora of kudos about Stable when this one gets a full release. A very very nice release! btw: The release date for this one is listed as September 13th so it should be showing up at your favorite shops soon. -->-Lance--- xxxxxxx@xxxx.xxx xxxxx@xxxxxxxxx.xxx p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states
