(idm) my ever so biased review of bassland.

so, stuart and alex played their last radio show as bassland on kuci's
space disco for fish tacos.

once again, they played unlike i have ever heard them play before.. this
time sticking on the more minimal techno/trance side of things. i was
quite impressed, especially given that they had 2 additional people
helping them out -- both of which only added to the quality of the
performance.

dana busted out stuart's records, carved out at various points in the
closing/locked goove -- much like thomas brinkmann is said to have done
(though im not sure stu has ever even heard of mr brinkmann.. pehaps the 2
of them should hook up? :) .. these records added some nice minimal
beats and atmosphere..

april provided some beautiful vocals, seeming to agree with the concept of
"less is more". perhaps she sbhould sing for electric skychurch :)

the only downfall was that things got off to a late start and thus i dont
think they got to cover as much ground as they had anticipated.

though it was all amazing, it really is sad to see such a talented project
play a farewell performance. i have seen them play so many times, fom the
beginning to end -- and i have to say each time was as much, if not
moreso, as facinating as the time before.

these kids will be missed.
