I've got two books on the go right now.

One is an advance review copy I was sent of a book called "200 Beats per
Minute" by Eddie Beverage. It's set in the rave/party scene in Orlando,
and deals with that whole culture, as well as the gay/bi sexual awakenings
of the main character, Danny Boyle. I get the impression that it's sort of
semi-autobiographical. I've only gotten about a third of the way through
it (it's short, around 170 pages), but it's not a bad read, really. Once
I've finished it, I'll do a proper review.

The reason I've set it aside, though, is the second book I'm reading:
"Filth" by Irvine Welsh (best known as the author of "Trainspotting"). I
just started this one this morning, actually, and I'm about 50 pages in,
but it's as good, funny and dark as I expected. Main character is a
disgusting, hateful, racist, sexist, corrupt sargeant on the Edinburgh
police force. Imagine "Bad Lieutenant" turned into a black comedy and
relocated to Scotland, plus Welsh's usual playing about with the written
word.

And I've also got the usual stack of comic books beside my bed which I
read a couple of each night. Last night, it was issues 4-9 of
"Palooka-ville" by Seth.
