Darn it. I was just about to suggest that you can start out with the rails = recessed enough that the knobs are totally protected, and if you don=E2=80= =99t like it then the screw holes won=E2=80=99t be visible when you move = the rails further out. The opposite obviously isn=E2=80=99t true. If you start shallow and move = deeper, you risk exposing the old screw holes.
