>Are later Mouse one Mars releases similar to Audiotacker? as a rule, MoM have become increasingly "experimental". more glitches, scratchy stuff, atonality, textures, ambient guitar sourced mellow drones etc. they've also tended to slip in one or two thinly veiled d&b tracks on all the newer releases. the only releases after "autoditacker" are "instrumentals" and "glam" - both were limited pressings (that got repressed), but they're still around in some shops. they're noticably more "experimental", but this could be attributed to the persona of the label (they're both on sonig - MoM's label) rather than a change in their style. the "lithops" (jan from MoM) stuff tends to be even more "experimental". anyways, pre-autoditacker releases are more accessible and "ambient technoish" (especially vulvaland and frosch). in many ways i'd say "yes" in answer to your question because that's where the trajectory was headed, but i think autoditacker is truly half-way between their older and newer stuff. if you want a cleaner poppier sound that's a bit more danceable, go for the old stuff; if you like the ambient lo-fi sound, go for the newer stuff. i would add that while it is "experimental" and "lo-fi", the newer stuff is not without melody. in fact, i'm listening to glam at this very moment - there's a couple tracks on here that rock old MoM style. personally, i recommend the newer, but hey - get it all! jon
