what they need is to get out of their rut and produce something
inspiring instead of mind-numbing.  their ideal of sterility and
precision is flawed and pretentious.  bernard parmegiani really did do
it better, and with much more imagination, 12-15 years ago.  some day
they'll break and realise that the convoluted path they've taken was
mostly a waste of time.

maybe music can be broken down into a series of numbers.  in that
sense, music /is/ mathematics.  but if that's all you get from music,
then what's the point?
