Come on.. you guys are getting to concerned with the semantics of all this.
IDM is just a name, and we all know what it's referring to. It's easy to
describe to friends ("it's like electronic that's not so dancy, unless
you're one of those obnoxious morons who try real hard to dance to Autechre").

Plus, we all know IDM is superior to any other kind of music, so the
implied pretense isn't so bad after all.
