(NOTE: While this may seem like complete parody, I'm 97.3% serious, so....) Hello, !ooT,eviLnaCskcuD is proud to present their first, and probably last, release... Artist: WWJD? Release: DIH! Catalogue #: The Mirror Image 001 Ltd to 2 copies on Hello Kitty MD + Pig Ceramic. Note:Listeners to experimental/IDM read part A, Professional Artists skim A and read part B. Thanks. A) After waiting ages (and ages and ages) for Mild Man Jan's fabled boxes, we asked ourselves "What would Jason Do?". The response: "Do it HIMSELF!". With that in mind, we said "Well do it then!". So, we'd like to present _DIH!_. Due to the artists (sic) love for pigs (he even has pictures of pigs in his honeymoon photo album taken at a zoo in Vancouver), and an inability in carpentry, plus his wife's insistence that he paint pottery with her, we forgo the boxes to present instead a ceramic pig handpainted by the artist and "music" formed from the sounds recorded on that date. All sounds recorded with a Sony R50 MD, on a cheap microphone given by a "favorite e-mail friend". Processed using the software found on Ios Smolder's _Dub Zap Standard_ double CD. In efforts to reduce the delays of one ill-timed V/Vm, we have the project 50% completed and will be issuing the release on August 20th, 1999. This date will not go unnoticed as it marks the artists (again, sic) 4th year wedding anniversary. Due to the limited nature of this project (2 copies, the artist reserves the right to keep one for himself), potential buyers must act NOW. The one copy for sale will cost $20 postage paid in the US, $25 elsewhere. Considering the MD costs $5, and the Pig $14, we at !ooT,eviLnaCskcuD feel this to be a fair cost. Bootleg copies are smiled upon, and will be done by us after the initial copy is sold (we expect due to public apathy to new ideas, this may not occur until the year 2001 but you never know). They will be on standard Sony MD and include pictures of the pigs. Price to be set, but will be no more than costs of materials and shipping. The artist SWEARS to return to his un-famous, but HAPPY, life of child care and teaching after this release and will not submit you to any other projects thereafter. This release was to be completed with a bonus track of WWJD? reworking a rendition of his favorite song, "Do Your Ears Hang Low?". Unfortunately, LuckyKitchen must have been peeping his ICQ as just announced was their release of basically the same aesthetic. Either that, or they are drinking from the same cup of collected unconsciousness as WWJD?. Regardless, that idea is potentially scrapped but may be supplimented by a rendition of "Ode to Strand One" by the Post BA-AA of MSU. Style Over Practicality. Peace and Hugs, Jason J. Tar Part B: Professional Artists. (note: if not interested, please forward to any who might be). It has always been a theory of ours that experimental music comes best from those without knowledge of the machines. When one has such knowledge, their understandings cover up their ideas and routine sets in. We would care to examine this theory further. We are asking for remixers to rework the source material, and then see if it stands up to our artist's rendition. Your experience will be put to the test against WWJD?'s lack. Unfortunately, our test is slightly tainted as WWJD? has heard music before and will thus be somewhat influenced, but we feel that his lack of software knowledge will keep it fair. He promised to spend only 8 hours working on the project, from the time the software is loaded to the time the finished sounds are done. If interested, we can unfortunately probably not offer you large sums of money. Simply a Thank You, the Thrill of Participating in This Scientific Experiment, and a Finished Copy of Whatever Comes Out. We forsee this finished copy being a CD-R, complete with a 3 minute edit of WWJD?'s work followed by the professional remixes. Also to be included will hopefully be an MP3 of the source material and JPGs of the pigs. Negotiations are in effect with SWFD Productions for the release of this material. Thank you for your time.
