hi all,

continuing my weekly 'when i remember'
news from the NME in the UK, interesting
idm-related stuff this time..:

Squarepusher "Maximum Priest" is out in
the UK July 5th - I think some people on
the list already have this on promo? It says
here it includes remixes from Wagon Christ,
Autechre, and a friend of Tom Jenkinson's
called Yee-King (?), and it's 6 tracks long :)

Mu-Ziq live review from the Embassy Rooms in
London says it's "easy on the complicated drill+bass
manoeuvres, massive with the syrupy strings and
surging cello scores." This was him, a string septet
and a Japanese singer called Kazumi, tho. Weird :)
The reviewer seemed to like it tho.

Also, a review of the new Capitol K album on
Planet Mu - 8/10, apparently it's Kristian Robinson
and percussionist Craig Harris and it's 'a humid blast
of ethno techno that's heavy with the reek of exotic
herbiage and frying circuitry'. Tuh, journalists, eh?
Still, anyone heard this?

[I never really understood the Planet Mu situation, btw -
aren't Sony funding it, and if so, aren't they gonna
get fed up with a continuation of worthy artists who
aren't really marketable (in terms of the fact they're
fairly anonymous bedroom boffins) and won't ever sell
THAT many copies? Ahem, just remembered there's
at least one listmember who's had stuff out on Planet
Mu.. but I dunno, how does that work?]

Umm, and that's about it :)

regards,
h0l/simon.
