As far as I remember the incoming signal and the BC signal are both AD converted into 8 bit digital signals which are AND/OR/XOR combined and the result is sent to the output DAC (i.e. the single bits are AND/OR/XOR combined). To be on the safe side please contact Christian Assall (xxxxxxxx@xxxxxxx.xx). He programmed the firmware of the A-189-1 and knows details.
