Can someone verify a Glass influence on Reich? I think they are contemporaries not student/teacher. Reich was doing tape pieces in the late 60s and early 70s and Glass was most likely doing the same arpeggio/broken chord pieces for solo piano/organ and orchestra. Reich shows more depth and substance than Glass ever will. Reich's "Music for 18 Musicians," "Electric Counterpoint" and "Vermont Counterpoint" are so great. > > From a nonexpert nonfan: > > Glass is a pomo wet dream avant-minimalist classical composer of the 60's > and on, big Steven Reich and idm influence, big fan and virtuoso > of the bleepbloop music.
