I'd have to agree. "The Sea Lettuce" was an excellent piece at it's time,
and still sounds different today. "Lee Perry still sounds wicked too. But
at the time I wasn't listening to much drum-n-bass and didn't have much to
compare it to. Over the last 2 years I have been, and both "68 Million
Shades" and "Busy Curious Thirsty" sound lame and derivative. The tracks
are overly repetitive and also not half as clever with dynamics or the
deconstruction of breaks as the stuff coming out of labels like Droppin
Science, Prototype, Juice, Hard Leaders, Tech Itch, Moving Shadow,
Reinforced, No U Turn, Formation, V, Urban Takeover and many more too
numerous to mention.

That said check out the tour for Lee Perry and Mad Professor. That sounds
very promising! I've never seen either live but I can't imagine it being a
non-event!

factoid of the nite: In about 1986 Lee Perry made a single called "Jungle".
