I sort of liked Dubstar the first time I listened to it, but I wasn't really
paying much attention. When I tried to actively listen to the album later, I
just got fed up with the way everything took at least five minutes to develop
into anything interesting. If you're going to make epics, don't start so small
and repeat so often that it takes half the track just to get started. 'Capital
D' and 'Call & Response' are the two best tracks on there, and they were on
the "Controlled Developments" EP they released nearly 2 years ago. 'Love &
Hate' was decent but not memorable enough to merit throwing down the $16 I
paid for this thing. Mediocre. I agree with Mark: techstep by numbers to me.
