>> Experimental artists? Remember which list you're on. :) I definitely = agree with what you're saying - I was quite astounded listening to Kraftwerk 2 recently - but I don't think it's the most in sync with what I see as being "IDM". << True, I was thinking in terms of the artists' whole body of work = vis-a-vis music today in general, not one genre. But it's been said = here before, and recently too, what a melange of influences coalesced to = form IDM. Just trying to stir the pot a little. ;) <soapbox> Tunnel vision spells a quick and ugly death for music scenes, = whereas eclectism is, IMO, our culture's greatest weapon against = prejudice. </soapbox> I didn't specifically mean "industrial" when I said "experimental" = though. That would be Kraftwerk S/T. It's sad to hear that they're resting on their laurels, but they've = covered a lot of ground: how many artists have made important records = in the prog-rock, disco AND techno-pop genres without falling from grace = along the way? Ya gotta love that. Lesser artists would have lapsed = into self-parody long before these guys. As far as specifically IDM-flavored stuff, I'd have to say Kraftwerk = peaked with Computer World. "Numbers" still sounds fresh to me. Oh, BTW, sorry about all that code crap in my last post. Hopefully I've = got the problem fixed now. So what about that Organisation album then? :) Peace through eclectism, Mitch
