It is literally 'radio interference' but since the Germans know
what 'funk' means in English (at least vis a vis music) they're punning
on the English meaning as well.

It translates 'funkst=F6rung' to 'interference' but translates
'funk st=F6rung' to 'radio disturbance'
As an aside DJ I.F. from Holland's first name is Ferenc and
I.F. is short for Inter Ferenc, which puns his name on the
English word interference. which, translated to german is
Funkst=F6rung. Coincidence? You be the judge.

As a further aside, James Joyce was a contemporary of Sigmund Freud,
and was very much influenced by Freud's work on the unconscious. And
Joyce enjoyed the fact that their names were both based on 'Joy'
('Freude' in German).
And to REALLY go off topic -- how do you type in umlauts on an English
PC keyboard? The umlauts in the words above i got by cutting and pasting
the o-umlaut from Tomas' post.
And to go BACK on topic, I finished editing and mastering the
Miami Funkst=F6rung/Phoenecia show, and it is pretty nice stuff.
The Funkst=F6rung set has more extended tracks than any of their
on vinyl products I've heard, the better to get a groove on.
Or maybe I'm just a sucker for effect processor tweaking.
