Or like that line from Dreamfish, Terrence McKenna saying:
"The God of western civilization has NOTHING to do with women"
I'm sure MM heard that line first in its original context, which is McKenna
blasting western theology's deep sexism, but when isolated by itself and
put into an otherwise beautiful and hypnotic track, the impression is much
different, and I don't think that was intentional. Okay, he does add other
context in the song: again, McKenna going "The all-knowing, wrathful (etc
etc) male diety" but it still doesn't add enough to prevent questioning
glances when I play it for people.
