wrong. this is completely dependent on the medium. assuming that "capturing more of a sound" means capturing as much of the frequencies and amplitudes of a live sound source as possible, then a digital cd captures more of the sound than an analog cassette. a studer 2" deck running at 30ips with dolby sr can capture a little more than a digital cd.  and a digital recorder recording at 24 bit 96khz can capture a little more than that.
