Those "catchy electronics" went in 1990 or something. Did neither of you
listen to his second album as Recoil - Bloodlines - a record somewhat in
the same vein as Unsound Methods, albeit not as dark. If you did you should
have heard that Alan is not about either Just Can't Get Enough, Master and
Servant or Strangelove.

I agree, it's not as good as "Bloodlines", "Violator" or anything else that
he has produced, I'm not much into the industrial side of the biznizz much,
but I REALLY appreciate the album's production, Alan is God in my eyes,
this album hasn't changed a thing. Four (4!!) people took his place on the
new DM album and still they didn't do it half as well as Alan would've.

(for you who haven't heard it)"Unsound Methods" (Mute records, CD/2x12") is
not like anything spawned from the DM crew before. It's rhythmically very
complex (no, not just 64notes played really fast through a delay box like
on our favorite Daddy-release etc) and very atmospheric. It sounds as if
Alan DID really get that airplane in his head. Wicked, dark and moody.
Guest vocalists include Douglas McCarthy (of former Nitzer Ebb. Long live
Nitzer Ebb), Siobhan Lynch and Hildia Campbell.
I dunno what do say, I really like some parts of it, other's I don't dig
much at all. But then again, as I said, I'm not into this whole industrial
thing.

Don't buy this album if you expect a new Depeche Mode album (like you
fellas obviously have done).

If you want to listen to one of the last 20 years greatest electronic music
producer's ramblings in the realms of industrialtrippyrhythmdrugmusic, do.

Slightly off topic, but I just felt that I had to give a bit more shaded
off picture of this album.

Fe.
