Sony To Unveil New Walkman Sony plans to unveil the next generation of its Walkman personal stereos tomorrow in New York, including a new device capable of downloading digital music from the Internet. Sony will introduce at least two new models as well as several enhanced features for the traditional CD and cassette Walkmans. The new products will go on sale in the United States this holiday season. Tomorrow's event is meant to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the device. Tokyo-based Sony created the Walkman in 1979, and is now seeking to catch the next wave of music portability, the distribution of digital music over the Internet. The new Walkman will feature the so-called memory stick, a storage device the size and shape of a stick of chewing gum. The memory stick holds data in digital form and can be plugged into Sony products ranging from digital still cameras to laptop computers. Peter np: Dj Daht- Darklight
