The renegade guerrilla from Chiapas will leave the Beta Bodega Outpost in Woodside, Queens for one night only. Saturday October 9 at Blow Up Mil Mascaras [leader of the infamous Beta Bodega Coalition, Beta Bodega records and Mexploitation Squad of New York City] makes his Miami DJ debut. It was the sound of house music in the late 80's that motivated Mil Mascaras to command the mix. You will be taken on a trip back to the early and developing days that span through the classic jack and acid basslines of Chicago [Trax, DJ International...], the tech rythyms of Detroit [Transmat, Metroplex...], the deep grooves of NYC [Nu Groove, 4th Floor, Easy Street...], to the bleep and clonk sound of U.K. [Warp, Network, Outer Rhythm...]. An audio history lesson that can't be missed. Translation for all IDM youngsters: [These are some of the early sounds that influenced Aphex Twin, everyone practiclly at Rephlex and Warp, etc. Don't beleive us. Check the forthcoming Influences release on Warp.] Alongside special Beta Bodega guests ps199 & Ghyger Kounter rolling with the crew will be also Patcha Kutek and V8 Blow Up residents Nova & Sucre. 275 Giralda Ave . Coral Gables, Miami . 305-498-6448
