Voiteck Andersen aka TD5 of plug research and truck music fame has informed me that he will be in the states at the end of april. He will be going to New York, Chicago, Detroit and then San Fran. and LA. He'll probably be there from the end of april to the start of May. If you're at all involved with promotion in any of these cities think about organising a gig. Voiteck is an incredible live performer (as his live cd - live at your mamas shows) total live analogue manipulation and driving truck beats... I saw him in early january and it blew the entire crowd away. Ive included below a review i wrote of the live cd... Live, Voiteck travels in a harder direction similar to the material on his Plug Research 12" (Liquid Paper EP). The six sets range from 1:50 to 20:40 in duration and Voiteck maintains pace and interest by balancing skillfully, repetition and variation to ensure enjoyment. The tracks often start out with polyrhythmic layers of crunchy percussion and Voiteck then begins to 'tweak' away adding in and stripping away synth melodies, squelches blips and sounds. The percussion subtly shifts throughout or changes directions instantly. Layers of driving crunchy techno crafted with original experimental sounds. One to stimulate the body and the brain. 10/10
