Ah yes : like the episode of Teletubbies which got into deep sh!t for
alledgedly having the letter "e" drift merrily from the sky and land in
this happy and lushly colourful land.

And like Planet E, the kiddies club run by Edgars, a large local
department store chain. And the large logo 'e' displayed at Engen
petrol stations - drug 'culture' seeping into every level of everyday
life. Names like "E-motion", "E-Legal" etc. aren't fooling anybody
as just being 'clever' are they? And the Synergy New Year party,
which drew a crowd of 25,000 had some local hip-hop outfit
standing on the main stage at midnight rapping 'ecstasy, ecstasy,
ecstasy' over and over - pretty unenlightening and going nowhere,
actually ...

I don't know what point I'm making here; but going to craft markets
and seeing tie-dye bell bottoms on sale for the pre-teens also falls
into this category - what was once the domain of acid trance
hippies is now a fashion item for ten year olds. As the mother of
two children, I've seen it all before - last time round - getting too
darn old and cynical.

As printed on a CD cover : Lyserge and Merge. Thrill and Chill.

OUT.
