To me Karl Hyde is the soul of Underworld - his voice, his poetry, and in t=
his sense the later work is as good as the classics (anyone know "8-Ball"?)=
. Not that I dislike the sounds. Though increasingly pop-ish, their style i=
s still unique and interesting, and pretty far from mainstream, much of it =
has a relaxing, even sexy vibe. I don't know if it is "IDM" but intellegien=
t dance-music it certainly is. Man, I fuckin love Underworld, so I had to p=
ipe in. (Incidentally one of the few "electronic" artists of "my" music tha=
t most of my past girlfriends have not only tolerated but actually enjoyed.=
) Saw them in LA (Hollyowood Bowl) last June doing dubnobasswithmyheadman t=
racks and a couple later ones. Epic!

 There
 seemed to be way less 'space' in the later albums.
 Though there's a few bright spots it mostly leaves me
 cold.=20
 Don't think I listened to Barking
 more than twice and I couldn't name a track after
 "Dinosaur Adventure 3d" without=20
 peeking.
