Lesser last night did a performance to remind us why US techno is not dead or derivative, nor simply rehashing ideas from the UK. Quite an impressive show, even if it did stumble once or twice. [Despite there being a very low turnout, mainly of folks who liked to talk to one another more than listen to the set. :(] Matmos was pretty hip too. I'd seen the "sample something and then make a track out of it live" idea before, but mainly in noise bands. Never in a rhythmic setting before. Neat. Unfortunately the power dropped before they were finished, so things came to an early close for that set. Maybe next time.... (What was that thing that Jay LSR was poking the other guys head with???). --- Peace Hugs and Unity Jason J. Tar W. W. J. D? (What would Jason Do?) http://www.msu.edu/user/tarjason xxx@xxxxxxxx
