RDJ may have in some respect had some great luck in being where he was when he was, but so what? You were lucky to stay on the curb this morning instead of getting mashed by a bus. More musically relevant, really great popular music has the property of being original, yet sounding totally obvious. Feel free not to like Aphex Twin. I know my wife hates him with a passion. But this criticism isn't just lame, it's also one that recurs on IDM frequently, and always gathers plenty of "put up or shut up" followups.
