Hello, all. The first week of February marks three years since the debut of Feedback Monitor, my weekly electronic/experimental radio show on CIUT 89.5 FM in Toronto. In celebration of this, I will be presenting two nights of live electronic music at CLINTON'S, 693 Bloor St. West on THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 4th and FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 5th. Performing on Thursday, February 4th will be (in planned order of appearance): dreamSTATE - the deep ambient project of duo Scott McGregor Moore and Jamie Todd who recently released their debut CD, "Between Realities", on their own e-space recordings label. [http://www.dreamstate.to] BITTER HARVEST - solo work from Scott Mackay (Phycus) featuring loops, drones and samples constructed live into an ethno-ambient mixture reminiscent of Muslimgauze and Rapoon. THE RUST BROTHERS - infamous turntable terrorists whose claims to fame include work with MuchMusic's Sook-Yin Lee and blowing DJ Spooky off the stage when they opened for him a year or so ago. Spinning sounds throughout the evening will be your's truly, DJ GREG CLOW, the host of Feedback Monitor. Performing on Friday, February 5th will be (in planned order of appearance): ATONEMENT - a new dark electronic project featuring Heiki Sillaste (Digital Poodle, Kinder Atom) and David S. Faris (Parade, In Another Life), this will be the duo's live debut, serving as a prelude to the spring release of their debut CD "Doctrine of Atonement" on Faris' own Plan Eleven label. SYNKRATIC - experimental techno from brothers Dario and Marco Del Degan who will be presenting radically reworked versions of tracks from their CD "birth astride a grave" along with new material. NAW - hard, dubby & minimal beats from Neil Wiernik, a multimedia artist who has done music work with Phycus, Technopest, The Crystal Methodists and more, and whose visual and computer work has appeared in museums and galleries worldwide. Rounding out the night with DJ action before, between & after the live sets will be LEX from LEGION OF GREEN MEN Admission each night is a mere FIVE DOLLARS, with doors opening at 9:30 PM. Both nights are 19+ events. So it's a good excuse to take a little roadtrip/vacation. :) Greg
