The Warp boys and girls (and tDR too - they've contributed their fair share
to the Blech 'look') are Sheffield people at heart, and Sheffield is the
Steel City after all. A Warp-connected mouth told me it was German for
'steel', so maybe something's got mixed up in the translation.

And while I'm here... the current ish of The Face (with the one, the only,
the mighty Jarvis! on t'front) has a column headed 'Club Classics No. 12 -
Sweet Exorcist 'Testone'. There's a little essay all about that devastating
slab of wax, and you can see it there at the top of the page in all its
lilac-sleeved glory.
