Getting the ball rolling... I dig planning :) - I see a process like this: 1. Establish organizer - (Michael Upton stated he would) a. generate a list of the artists and tracks 2. Establish a location for the samples a. samples should be in MP3 format at 128k setting (like @ mp3.com) b. samples should be uploaded to a server and orgainzed by artist 3. an external (outside of IDM) list should be created for the project 4. rough time frames should be defined for each stage a. the stages will need to be outlined - covering the process 5. $ - yes the CD's should be sold - but since it probably won't make anyone much $$ at all - the cash should go to an international benefit or foundation - artist suggested and voted upon. 6. The cd should be sold on Mp3.com and can be sold by each artist (making your own CD) in terms of a server... I have one and will participate. What we will do is have a url where the participating artists will be able to upload and download the samples. I could possibly set up an FTP account - but I'd rather do this through the browser... I'll also participate with a track and remixing. As for a list - http://www.onelist.com will work for our needs. Well that's my 2 cents, hmm... I wrote 6 items, so that makes... 12 cents!
