Aphex Twin has frequently acknowledged his love for Human League, particularly
'Dare.' If you're looking for context, all those guys were in their
Wonder Years during the mid to late 80's.  Those bands featured electronic
sounds in a new context, and I can see how those synth sounds could make
young boys fantasize about getting an SH101 and trying to make their own
noises at home.

The other huge influence you can hear in their music is the mid-80's
electro and hip hop.  Again this was stuff that was 'in the air' back
then.
