Sigma Editions (xxxxx@xxx.xxx) is a new label coming out of Melbourne. The label is run by Dion Workman and Rosy Parlane (ex-Thela). The first two releases are sigma 001 rosy parlane: #1-4 recorded in Wellington and Auckland, October-December 1997, track 7 recorded live in Sydney March 1997. No track names. sigma 002 parmentier: luxsound written and recorded november 1997 - September 1998 Parmentier are dance music for those who didn't get in. The tracks in their unassuming way quietly wrap the listener in sound. One realises they have been engulfed, taken away... abducted. They play minimalist loops to confused fans of Sonic Youth. To come on sigma are minit (sydney) and David Haines (sydney) Parmentier will find itself in Europe late Feb early March and a there for a label tour mid-year. Up at http://laudanum.net by late feb. will be a parmentier homepage with details. To hear real-audio of all four artists check "l'audible" a recent archive of sounds from Australia and New Zealand...still new but growing quick. lives at http://laudanum.net/ldbl caleb-____k. --------------- ---------_____---- Technology has made us look at music through a microscope Goldie www.laudanum.net/pfe www.laudanum.net/laudible
