Yes! Yes! I am a huge fan of the SND label & artists. Been play these tracks on the inaudible show consistently for months. Newtables is the second one so far. The first one was called TPlay and is quite similar in sound. There is an unreleased SND track on the recent Modulation & Transformation vol 4 comp and SND have an album coming out on Mille Plateaux any day now called "Make SND Cassette." I have an advance of it and it's just as amazing as the two SND eps - a beautiful mix of experimental soundscapes/testures and intricately complex percussions. Imagine Oval, Microstoria, Cathars, Tom Steinle, Novisad, or OST mixed with Maus & Stolle, Substance, Various Artists, and maybe Arovane. Amazing stuff! SND is the project of two Sheffield producers/ programmers named Mark Fell and Mat Steel. Much like Markus Popp, Mark & Mat are both accomplished programmers continually writing new sound synthesis & manipulation software always pushing the envelope of technology. A press release i have adds .. "The SND project is influenced by electronic art, programming structures, information graphics and theory. All sounds of the album are virtual; SND are not using conventional music software or electronic instruments. The group develops software interfaces that generate patterns and modify sound. In this sense the process is more concerned ergonomic than aestethic. SND are working in a cultural field which opposes centextualisations of ceontemporary music in an only analogue domain. The music is made through an intermixing of digital residue with carefully disclosed source materials." Without a doubt, the two SND label records and the upcoming SND album on Mille Plateaux going to be in my top 10 of this year. -->-Lance--- xxxxxxx@xxxx.xxx xxxxx@xxxxxxxxx.xxx p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states
