I've been super happy with all of the stuff I've heard from the West Coast. Amateurish definitely *doesn't* come to mind, the complete opposite exactly. Been doing my best to champion the music there as much as I can through writing about it, playing it, and interviewing the artists, but certainly *haven't* "heard it all and then some". Check out the interview from John Tejada on http://www.globalserve.net/~cognition and the upcoming interview with Danny Zelonky (Crank/Low Res/etc) for opinions from some West Coast artists (plus there's more to come in 1999). Thanks.
