-Insight Featuring Signaldrift/Rehab/Nudge An awesome evening, like all the previous Insight events the night went beautifully. The first thing i noticed last night was a huge amount of gear, two computers and three monitors aside from the actual music gear.. some guy was doing some fairly trippy visual stuff. Strange instructional videos from PBS, electrical storms, dancing children.. it all mixed very well with the music. Some great DJ'ing going on (by sean cooper?), caught some Push Button Objects.. and Spandau Ballet I believe.. Signaldrift came on first.. being fairly unfamiliar with the Outward Music camp except for just picking up their double lp (which by the way is splendid, double clear vinyl for 9 dollars, smooooth..).. Signaldrift was very soundscap-y in a good way, seemed quite improvised and enjoyable. Towards the end it got very good, with some great textures and heavily affected guitar twiddling.. splendid!.. after that was Rehab, they started off with some really good melodic electronic stuff, obviously performed live.. when suddenly i heard something that sounded like a real snare drum (gasp), and then one of the guys turned around and started playing a full out real drum kit.. and well nonetheless.. splendid! Then the other guy pulled out a strange looking guitar and that started jamming in a way I had never heard.. it was spectacular.. I had never heard such sounds come from a guitar. Definately pushed the boundaries of what i expected.. Thanks to the Emanate and Omco crew for another great Insight.. I hope someone is taking notes. jsin djdesire 4of4 email:: xxxxxx@xxx.xxx web:: inconstruct aim: DjDesire :`'''```''''```'''`''`''`'`'``''``` Int'l Recluse Extraordinare Serving the San Francisco Bay Area Since 1980 iMmeRse YoUr sOuL iN lOve
