> Or has someone built one before and can provide some guidance? I've replaced a couple of those 1009 blocks. Both times with an OP-42 op-amp on a bit of strip board made so that it connected directly to the solder pads of the now removed 1009 block on the main board inside the 3604-P. Pin 2 of the old 1009 block now goes to pin 2 of the OP-42, pin 3 goes to pin 3 of the OP-42. Pin 6 goes to pin 6 of the OP-42. Pin 9, the positive supply, goes to pin 7 of the OP-42. Pin 7, the negative supply, goes to pin 4 of the OP-42. I also added a couple of 100nF polyester caps from the supply pins of the op-amp to 0V, pin 8 of the 1009 block. You can ignore the trimmer so leave pin 5 unconnected. Probably not a job for someone who hasn't tinkered with these sorts of things before though. Tony www.oakleysound.com
