i just got a promo of the forthcoming steve reich remix compilation on nonesuch, and it's amazing. standout track is by andrea parker (no surprise). coldcut, ken ishii, dj spooky (?) all figure here... i was a little skeptical of some of the remixers--was afraid it might be a bit run-of-the-mill (all the usual names represented)--but no, it's fucking great. (look for a more eloquent review soon @ urban sounds.) one question. several of the tracks contain a vocal sample that also feature's in UNKLE's "bruise blood mix" of tortoise's "djed": "...let some of the bruise blood come out to show them..." what the hell is this from? i'd always thought, poor ignorant me, that it was just some snippet that unkle had spliced into the tortoise track. but given that it features on 2 or 3 of the mixes here, methinks it must come from a steve reich composition. help? phil ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
