Don't know who the hell these guys are, or where they come from (well, Denmark, literally) but their album "The Hi-Fi Companion" (Plasma/Pagoda) is a really amazing contribution to lush, melodic IDM. I hear snippets of Boards of Canada, SAWI-era Aphex Twin... Great palette -- nice use of world-music sampling w/o sounding like a fucking Putumayo cd. Just hints of added textures over crisp IDM beats and deep, rich melodies. I can't imagine anyone who likes the emotional side of BoC not just eating this up. Additionally, I'm listening more and more to that Binger the Voyager album (the one with Hans/Hab), and I've come to the conclusion that it is indeed the first great IDM pop album. Really. phil
