i can't speak for bogdan, but i know from listening to
squarepusher and mike paradinas that there is little likelyhood they
randomize their patterns. i've been drumming for 8 years and have done
plenty of random percussion sequences and they just lack the overall flow
and feel of a well programmed beat which both squarepusher and u-ziq
provide.
at times i am amazed that squarepusher isn't a drummer because he is able
to write such coherent and cohesive percussion parts. now if only he could
play his parts live like me </boast> ;)
