yes! yes! totally! but there's nothing worse than finding those 
unlabeled/unannotated tapes that you'd made at earlier stages of your 
collection, listening to them, and realizing - shock! horror! - that you have 
absolutely no idea what you're hearing. 

and how 'bout the thoughts of "wow, this is amazing. i've really got to buy 
this!" that hit you - first as you're relistening to a mix tape you just made 
for a friend - then if/when you're with them as they play it. 

i'm still convinced that making such tapes is the only way to really 
appreciate the music you own. everything sounds better coming out of someone 
else's car stereo.
