Indian film muzak: I gotta ditto the earlier recommendation for Vijaya Ananad's (sp?) "Dance Raja Dance." It flipped the script for me when I first heard it - some kind of mutant bastardized country techno disco pop with Indian vocals, truly madddd stuff. You gotta pick this up, it's on Luaka Bop/Warner Bros. and should be easy to score. Coming in at a close second is a comp. called "Golden Voices from the Silver Screen", I know they're up to at least Volume Two now. Haven't heard Volume One, but the second track on two had me on my knees BEFORE the tejano breakdown at the end. It's on a label called Ace, apparently. Good luck - Brock P.S. Sorry for not posting this off-list but this stuff is too good, IDM or no IDM. Now back to your regularly scheduled programming... ____________________________________ Brock Phillips - xxxxx@xxxxx.xxx.xxx WXYC 89.3 FM The New Science Experience Tune in every Saturday night 9-12 AM EST http://www.wxyc.com for live RA broadcast Promos, demos, etc. welcome for submission Email for postal address and details...
