Ignore if you don't consider hiphop even mildly IDM...
=09(Not so)Bold Statement: Mos Def and Talib Kweli (aka Blackstar) are g=
oing to=0Abe huge... I think they'll be the first group from the new wav=
e of indie=0Ahiphop acts to make it big (fuck Cannibus). I'm not saying =
they're more=0Atalented than Company Flow, but they're far more palatable=
... Mos Def is a=0Aconsumate showman, moving from rap to reggae to Spiceg=
irls. Kweli has=0Alyrics in crazy abundance =97 not the thesaurus word=
s of a Big Jus, but just=0Aspectacular rhyming, flow, etc.. Their beats =
are great. I just hope they can=0Abreak past the level of success that T=
ribe and De la achieved, because they=0Asure deserve it.
=09I've seen them live twice (opening for De La and the Roots), and each =
time=0Athey've blown the headliners off the stage (Mos Def brought the ho=
use down=0Awhen he covered Scenario, and then QTip came onstage for Body =
Rock, doing his=0Abest Busat Rhymes impersonation. wow). Go see them =
if all possible. I=0Acan't wait for their album to drop. Check their =
tracks on Lyricist Lounge,=0Aplus the Reflection Eternal single, and Mos =
Def's single...
=09Just remember... It's okay to be a player-hater. Just don't be a hate=
r-=0Aplayer.
