i agree with you on the being annoyed by the "macho-harder than thou"
view.

but it almost seems that in your post you are not only taking a slam at
those who have such an attitude, but at those who might enjoy the music
you lump together with that attitude..

i happen to like vvm.  i happen to love noise.  and while a part of me
REALLY enjoys getting a reaction from people by playing really harsh music
(thats the gutter punk in me), the other half really enjoys finding music
that might appeal to a specific person or group of people (thats the peace
punk in me).

really though, its not just the "harder than thou" attitude that gets
tired around here.. but the "holier than thou" one as well.  and im not
saying you are that way (as i do not know you) -- but just voicing my
opinions on some of the attitudes i see here quite often.
