So I sent this email under the wrong account:=20 =E2=80=9CAt this point I will have replaced two of my filter on my ESQ-1. It= =E2=80=99s perfectly functioning other than one filter giving out a tad but I= =E2=80=99m wondering how one tells which of the filters is failing. I=E2=80=99= m guessing Filter 5 because it has the lowest number of 145 on the filter tu= ning page or maybe Filter 4 which has the highest number of 152 on the Filte= r tuning page. I can hear that this filter doesn=E2=80=99t function like the= others and doesn=E2=80=99t do a good job of, well, filtering. I bought a CE= M3379 chip last night but before it arrived I=E2=80=99m really wondering how= in the world I tell which filter is the culprit because I don=E2=80=99t rea= lly want to remove all the filters from the ensoniq to find it one by one. I= s the only way to do this through an oscilloscope?=E2=80=9D That was a while back. I was wondering why no one responded and now I see wh= y. Any who, since then I=E2=80=99ve received the filter and replaced it. It w= as more trial and error. I found that the filters, from what I saw at least,= are arranged in numbered rows like so: 1-2 3-4 5-6 7-8 Filter three, for some odd reason, was the culprit in my case. I swapped out= seven to get to this conclusion but I could=E2=80=99ve taken a more logical= approach. I=E2=80=99d turn on resets for everything on the patch (oscillator, voice, e= nvelope, etc...) and of turn the synth off and back on. I=E2=80=99d play eac= h note and every time I did this the third note would be the one that was br= ighter than the rest. This would=E2=80=99ve told me, if I had a brain about m= e, that the third filter was the culprit. That trial and error, however, hea= led immensely in mapping the layout. I=E2=80=99ve been looking around with information on this and haven=E2=80=99= t been able to find any so I thought this might be useful to someone.=
