My OBX Encore MIDI retrofit has never had jitter/note on/off lag or sysex issues. It is possible that the Encore retrofit may be incompatible with your particular OBXa. There were different versions IE the original model needed a replacement processor board to upgrade from 32 to 120 patches. Memory mapping was different between the two versions. I do not know if the Encore retrofit can accommodate either version, but the developer did work for Oberheim during the days of the OBXa. Sent from my iOberheimHistoryBook, MC >> I have an OB-Xa with a Encore midi kit that seems to have a bad lag and >> jitter issue. the lag is about a 16th note at 120 bpm.
