We've never had to cancel due to 'lots' of money being lost. The big tour
we did in April lost a couple dates due to promoter flakiness and the
bizarre police state that was going on in Baltimore around that time.
That said, we always lose some money. Aside from bigger bands, super star
over paid crap dj's, and or stadium acts, I don't know anyone who really
makes any cash touring. It's all about promoting records. If you put it
in context it's not so bad. It cost a $1000 for a decent size ad in a big
magazine, so if you lose a few thousand on a few shows it's not so
hideous. Having good parties sells more records ultimatly and it's a hell
of a lot more fun for everyone. Plus we stimulate the local economy by
bringing loads of Brits over to drop all their money in American/Canadian
record stores.
